Yes, that’s right. THE Goodwill Industries now has an auction site. shopgoodwill.com I haven’t decided if this is better than shopping in the store or not. On some levels I think it might be. I can’t imagine cruddy stuff warranting the time it takes to list and describe an auctions. So that is a time saver, not to mention you can shop and bid from the comfort of your own home.

Another pro is that you could get some nifty stuff that you wouldn’t see in a regular retail store and you don’t have to go paw through other used stuff.

The only con I can think of is that it could catch on and you wouldn’t get it at as much of a bargain as you might get in the actual store. Although I do hear that there are people who scour the Goodwill’s and hide things in wait for the red dot sale, or something like that.

Regardless, in my brief browsing of the site I noticed lots of craft supplies, vintage jewelry, etc. If you know what you’re looking for you might get something good to repurpose into your own pieces.

And, you’ll be helping a non-profit. That’s alway  a plus.
